Title:
October Rust
Artist: Type O Negative
Reviewer: Webspinner
Category: Goth
Description: This is an remarkably mellow album
for gothic rock band Type O Negative. The usual cynicism is almost
totally gone for this one album, for comparision try listening to
Bloody Kisses. This definitely appears to be their pagan friendly
album, with titles like "Be my druidess" "Wolf Moon" and "Green
Man". While being very different from both previous and the latest
album this was a very successful experiment. I can thoroughly recommend
it, even if you usually don't like gothic or dark rock bands, this
one is different.

Title: Shadow
Of The Moon
Artist: Blackmore's Night
Reviewer: Merlyn
Category: New Age
Description: This is the excellent debut album from the relatively
new band Blackmore's Night. The band is lead by Rickie Blackmore
on guitars (Ex Deep Purple), and Candice Night on vocals. The
music is gentle and nothing like Deep Purple. It is hard to categorise
much of it is traditional folk, with newage and subtle rock influences.
The vocals are superb, with the lyrics having a very wiccan feel.
Try this with an open mind, you won't be disappointed.

Title: Under
A Violet Moon
Artist: Blackmore's Night
Reviewer: Merlyn
Category: New Age
Description: The second album from the brillant Blackmore's Night.
It is always hard to follow a brilliant debut album (Shadow of
the Moon), but they have managed it in style with this amazing
album. The vocals and instrumental accompanyment is subtle and
atmospheric. Candice Night really does have a good voice. Again
the music is hard to categorise, being part traditional, newage,
soft rock. But it is a blend I can thoughly recommend.

Title: Music
From The Motion Picture - The Craft
Artist: Various
Reviewer: Merlyn
Category: Indie
Description: The soundtrack to the cult teen witch film The Craft.
The film wasn't bad considering it was a Hollywood horror film.
The music is very atmospheric and suited the theme. Even if you
didn't like the film give this album a listen. There are samples
on the amazon site.

Title: Mediaeval Baebes
Artist: Worldes Blysse
Reviewer: Merlyn
Category: Classical
The Baebes are thirteen female vocalists of incredible power
and talent. The accompanyment is by Dorothy, a very accomplished
and skilled musician specialising in mediaeval instruments.
The Mediaeval Baebes sing a number of songs, mostly in Latin,
but also mediaeval poems set to music by the very talented Katherine
Blake. This album is an improvement on the amazing debut album
and definitely has a more pagan feel. They have even been banned
from a famous UK religious program for some of their members
comments regarding their pagan beliefs. So support them and
buy this CD you won't regret it.
