The
final work of the "Grand Old Man of Witchcraft".
This is a complementary volume to his earlier Witchcraft Today.
it explores the Stone Age origins, symbols and practices of
Witchcraft. Also examined are the curious beliefs about, and
allegations made against, Witches.
Originally
published in 1959, it was written by an avowed Witch, shortly
after the last of ' of the infamous "Witch Laws"
was finally repealed in England in 1951. Unique in its day,
it has remained the subject of heated controversy among Craft
people, anthropologists and historians. Gerald Brosseau Gardner
(1884-1964) is universally credited with being the father
of the modem witchcraft revival. He was also the founder of
the Museum of Magic and Witchcraft, formerly on the Isle of
Man.
[This book]
belongs on the bookshelf of every Witch and every person ...
interested in the whole vast field of the occult. Raymond
Buckland, * Ph.D.
If Gardner published
his books without permission from his High Priestess there
are thousands today who can be grateful that he did. Dr.
